RIP Grandma

Last night, Grandma passed away in her sleep. She hadn't been doing well since the end of March when she went into the hospital. We knew that it was coming, and when she went back to the nursing home on Friday, they told us that it could be days or it could be weeks. I think that we were expecting weeks, not days.

She is now with all the loved ones who went before her, including my grandfather, my uncle and my half-brother. She lived a hundred years, was ready to go, and did so without suffering. She was well loved, and she will be sorely missed.

She was an amazing woman who lived a full life. She survived two world wars, traveled around the world and was able to meet four great-grandchildren. All of her descendants came to celebrate with her in January, something which hasn't happened in over thirty years.

Here are some of our recent trips to visit her:
January 2011 - Peter's first trip and Grandma's 100th birthday
July 2009
July 2008

Rene Wood - January 14, 1911 to April 19th, 2011
